Anthony
Nex began recording images at an early age, but it wasn’t until a skateboard
accident in high school that he began committing them to film. But the
time the stitches and casts had been removed his first submission was
on the photo editors desk at Skateboarder Magazine.
From
that beginning he has continued to prolifically capture imagery. Initially
specializing in still life work, he found himself photographing kids more
and more, and really loved the projects. Enjoying a mix of people, kids
and products keeps his vision fresh and continually evolving.
Anthony believes the key to a successful shoot is preparation, an open
mind for collaboration, and above all, a sense of humor.
As a child he had a sense of wonder of the world, and as a parent he has
had the opportunity to share that with his son. This is a strong influence
in his work.
Having traveled for work throughout the world, he lives on the Westside
of Los Angeles. He still skates the occasional empty
pool, but wears a helmet now.
